The loss of a cherished classmate has left a deep void in the hearts of many, as friends and loved ones mourn the passing of Steve Nurse. Remembered as a great friend and classmate, Steve’s passing has brought sadness to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Tributes continue to pour in, reflecting the impact he made through his kindness, presence, and the memories he shared with those around him.
For many, Steve was more than just a classmate—he was someone who brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of connection. Whether in school halls, shared conversations, or everyday interactions, he left a lasting impression that will not be forgotten. His absence is deeply felt, and his memory will remain alive in the hearts of friends who grew alongside him.
Family, friends, and members of the community will gather to honor his life and say their final goodbyes. Visitation and funeral services are scheduled to take place at Our Lady Immaculate Heart Church, located at 510 East First Street in Ankeny. On Monday, May 4th, a Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The following day, Tuesday, May 5th, a Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., with burial and a luncheon to follow.
The services are being coordinated by Ankeny Memorial Services, providing support to the family during this difficult time.
